During your next trip to the Galleria at Crystal Run, you might take your eyes off your touchscreen before you even begin shopping. That’s because the Galleria has something you can’t get from Apple or Samsung: eight-foot-tall touchscreens, which will replace Crystal Run’s traditional print directories. These new digital directories even look like smartphones. Rectangular metallic frames surround two large screens – one on each side – which display ads and, with a tap of the finger, present interactive maps of the entertainment and shopping center.
In total, fourteen digital directories will guide visitors through the Galleria’s common area to the stores, restaurants, and entertainment venues they are looking for. Installation began on January 25 and will continue in the days ahead. When operational, the directories will complete an enhancement project the Galleria embarked on in 2015, which included renovations to entrances, installation of seating areas, complete retiling and repainting of the common area, and installation of public WiFi.
